So many people in me, so many lives
Oh, why can’t I marry many wives?
One woman – sure,
I’m sure I’ll her adore
But which one would it be? The young and playful?
Who is still discovering herself,
Or perhaps the wild adventurous one, who will never rest?
Visit forests, climb the Everest!
Oh, the places we’ll go!
And the artist in me who wants to create, to be with someone who will not hesitate
To explore the path of art and color
Let’s fill our lives with glorious wonder!
Can I have it all?
Mature me. Serious me. What will be of this dichotomy?
Do I want to be a teacher to a work-in-progress?
Can I not kick back on the pleasures of maturity, of love and sensitivity?
And what of children?
To meet the challenge of raising many,
When I know that I’ll grow old and wary?
If a mature woman I am to marry
Perhaps it won’t be all too scary
If I only have a few.
But why be in doubt?
Why be so bitter?
Would it be so crude if we were this option to include,
To marry one woman for every man in me.
To satisfy the facets of all that I can be?
Oh, glorious polygamy – the unattainable answer
That cannot be
