Love is eternal.

Not in the sense that it extends forward in time, endlessly, from the arbitrary point whence it was born
That is not eternity, but a cursed longevity we would never hope to have
But eternal in the sense of having emerged out of, been liberated from the constraints of the space-and-time-bound world in which it found its first expression.

We are eternal.

We are eternal beings, who must suffer the mundane as we walk this earth, as we go to school, balance check books and take out the garbage.

We are eternal beings, both trapped and liberated by this physical form and temporal world,
In and through which sparks of eternity are made and can be found.

Thus, we may commune with the eternal, revisit an old love, talk to ourselves as the child we are. Revisit and rediscover that which is beyond time, that which is real and part of us in such a deep way, that we can no longer touch it, because it has transcended its mortal form.

Love is forever.
